Associate Director for Outreach, Associate Librarian

Mary Mintz has been a library faculty member at AU since the early 1980s.  Her master’s paper in library science focused on enhancing vocabulary for database retrieval.  She is pleased to return to that topic in the context of the Conference on High Impact Research.  At AU she is the library liaison for most of the living learning groups and other special undergraduate populations.  She also provides library instruction for senior capstone writers in history and literature.  She teaches the Honors Research module course.  Her outside scholarly interest is the literature and history of the eighteenth century with a focus on Jane Austen.  She chaired the papers selection committee for the national 2016 Jane Austen Society conference.  In her professional capacity, she serves on the board of RUSA, the Reference and User Services Association, a division of the American Library Association.
